My desire to start learning Carnatic music materialized very, very late. But the teaching style of Usha ma'am and the great value in spending every moment in her class got me going for almost 6 years! One may find it a bit difficult to withstand the rigor of ma'am's coaching, but it makes all the difference when her students perform. It is not very easy to find a music teacher of her talent and commitment. May God give her all the health and happiness for many many years to come.

Myself & my daughter Shreya joined Eswaralaya almost 6 yrs ago. Though I took a break for a few months, I couldn't resist and joined back the classes again. Smt Usha Srinivasan is a true teacher; extremely dedicated, knowledgeable and disciplined. She seeks perfection in her students and makes tremendous effort to identifying problem areas in each student and corrects them in every class. Her music is soul-touching; especially when she teaches Bhajans (my eyes fill with tears many a times during her Bhajan classes). We are lucky to have such a dedicated teacher!

Both of our daughters SriSarvani and Sivani have been learning music from Smt. UshaSrinivasan since 4 and 1.5 years respectively. From our observation, both the kids are building interest in music and have picked up focus, concentration and discipline. She takes care of her students very well. During the music festival, she used to explain to her students the ragas in the class and encouraged her students to watch them. She wouldn't teach a new lesson unless she is convinced that all the students in the class put their best effort and demonstrate. We personally feel that our kids are in safe hands and glad that they are learning from Smt. UshaSrinivasan. We wish her long life and look forward for her blessings to our kids.

Our GURU emphasizes on daily practice & perfection. If we do not get a gamaka right, then ma'am works with us, sees to it that we get it right & only then continues the class; this symbolizes her obsession for perfection. From our output, Ma'am can make out if we have come prepared with our home work for the assigned classes. Our GURU gives a lot of importance for punctuality, responsibility, regular attendance & dress code. Ma'am is very dedicated towards her teaching. Apart from music learning, we also learn moral values of life and time management. I am able to balance my time between music and academics. I am very blessed to have a GURU like her, as I am able to perform and take part in various programmes with high confidence level.

During my B.E, I started learning under 'SangeethaRathna' Smt. UshaSrinivasan. Meeting Smt. UshaSrinivasan transformed my music career completely. I attended music class daily (sometimes even twice a day) during vacations and other holidays as I was studying at Warangal at that time.
Such intensive training would not have been possible without the guidance and cooperation of my teacher Smt. UshaSrinivasan. I also started learning advanced concepts like kalpanaswarams, niraval and aalapana during this period and developed a deep passion for Carnatic music due to the inspiration of my teacher. Carnatic music has now become an integral part of my life.

"A guru shapes the life of a student." From the day I joined Eswaralaya, my learning has taken shape. I offer full credits to my guru, Smt. UshaSrinivasan. She has filled me with invaluable qualities of punctuality, self-respect, hard work and many other inexplicable values which are needed in our day-to-day life. When I enrolled for music classes here, my voice had to be trained. Teacher has instructed me and I tried to do as she said. In a few months, my voice quality changed and there was an incredible difference in it.
